Focus on adding context more for questions 2)A point that I missed which I could've added is "Synergy" This theory states that their are key links between the content and other methods of maximising profit due to the branding being kept the same etc. 3)On a scale from 1-10, in terms of how much I revised, i would place myself on a 6.5 or 7. 4)I managed to get 6/6 in the first question because I had 3 strategies and 3 benefits 5)In question 2,I followed the guidance of the question and wrote about public service broadcasters as well as commercial broadcasters. Feminism

1)The article focuses on a period drama aired in America called "Pan Am" and the music video for the Beyonce song "Why Don't You Love Me." 2)This idea mentioned is that the females in both texts are for men to look at, linking to the idea that sex sells. An example of which in the first media text is through a magazine cover, which display the main character, "Laura," as a stewardess in tight but suggestive clothing. Also, it highlights the fact the the pilots and stewards would stay in expensive and luxurious hotel, which to an extent may not as true to this day, potentially giving the counter hegemonic reading that the representation of pilot and in flight can crew are inaccurate. The Beyonce music video refers to the 1950s' typical housewife, who is cleaning and making sure that the house is ready and perfect for the huband, who would be at work, whilst the wife would be at home, looking after the children etc. Of course, this is a misrepresen

Introduction To Feminism

1) This is the spreading of feminism through the use of the internet through hashtags and websites, a clear example being the website that the lady in the "Ted-ED Talk" created to share stories of sexual assault. 2) First wave:   early 20th century, suffragette movement (right to vote). Second wave:  1960s – 1990s, reproductive rights, abortion, equal pay. Third wave:  1990s – present, empowerment, reclaiming of femininity (high heels, sexuality etc. See Angela McRobbie's work on women's magazines). People told her that sexism was no longer a problem, although she experienced it first hand. It was because of thi, he tarted the "Everyday Sexism" campaign which started as a blog type of website where women could hare their
1) List the different  people / groups  represented in the trailer (men/women/Americans etc.) Men Women Americans   Teenagers  Foreign 2) For each group you identify, decide whether the representation is a dominant or alternative portrayal. Explain why you think this. The representation of every group in the trailer was very dominant. The male was depicted as the hero in the trailer, the teenagers were depicted as defenseless and vulnerable, the American figures were shown to be both the heroes and victims whilst the foreign figures with the different accents were seen as the villains. 3) What  stereotypes  can you identify in the trailer? The very first stereotype I had noticed whilst watching the trailer was that the male figure was depicted as the main hero of the story, and was also seen as a skilled combatant with no fear. The women within the trailer (mainly the two teenage girls) were shown to be weak, defenseless girls that could not do much. A very popular st

Public Service Broadcasting

1) This report is suggesting that people are viewing media through more devices than just a traditional television. This report is instigating the idea that people nowadays are too busy to sit at home and watch TV on their television sets and instead access this content via the internet through their devices, examples being, tablets, phones, computers and laptops. 2)Main differences include The amount of time the specified age group is watching TV for; on a TV set, and that the younger generations will, more often than not, watch TV programmes on demand, on their internet-enabled devices. 3) This report suggests that the viewers of the public service broadcasters are indeed  satisfied  and that this rate of satisfaction is in fact on the up and up. As a result, this will mean that the public service broadcasters will reel in more viewers which is good for them as more of these people would need to pay for a TV license, which generates more revenue for the broadcaster. 4)Publ
